Kemonozume is an anime series written and directed by Masaaki Yuasa, animated by Studio Madhouse, and broadcasted from August 5, 2006 to November 5, 2006.

Since ancient times there has been a race of flesh eating monsters called Shokujinki. They can assume human form or otherwise live in the shadows while feeding on humans. The Kifuken martial style school was created to hunt down those creatures and its teachings have been passed down through the generations to the Momota family.

The story revolves around the forbidden romance between Toshihiko, the latest heir of the Kifuken school and Yuka, a young woman who is a Shokujinki.

This anime series is highly recommended by several YouTube Outcasts, especially one Outcast from Germany. She (I'm assuming that she's a girl) wrote quite an elaborate description about the anime. Let's just say if Bush's advisors about WMD are as good as her, things may turn out differently with the war in Iraq. :) She even provided titles and synopsis for the episodes which I find very helpful. Komatsu Nana happens to sit next to Oosaki Nana in the train for Tokyo. Komatsu Nana is going to meet her boyfriend, while Oosaki Nana is going to Tokyo to become a musician. Because they happened to have same names, soon they become friends. Furthermore, when they’re looking for apartments, they meet again. Then, they began to live in the same room.

Komatsu Nana begins her new life in Tokyo being helped by her boyfriend, Shouji, and the friends from the same town, Junko and Kyosuke. On the other hand, Oosaki Nana aims at the stage debut as a vocalist of a punk rock group, “Blast”, holding her love towards Ren, a guitarist of a popular band group, Trapnest.

At first glance, they are opposite; while Komatsu Nana is gentle and innocent, Oosaki Nana keeps cool attitude for everything. However, their bond is getting tighter although sometimes they have quarrels.
