The aftermath of the Avalon's arrival leaves Lelouch, Euphemia, Karen, and Suzaku on the island of Kami ne Jima. Suzaku encounters Karen, learning that she is the pilot of the Guren Nishiki. Suzaku also reveals to Karen that he is the one who killed his own father. Euphemia and Zero encounter each other; and Euphemia confirms Lelouch to be alive and his identity as Zero. In fact, she suspected that ever since the hotel incident. Prince Schneizel, Lloyd, and Cecile survey the island's ancient ruins with the help of Gawain. Zero, Karen, Suzaku and Euphemia fall into the ruins. To escape, Zero and Karen steal the Gawain. With the Chinese Federation, the exiled Japanese launch a full-scale assault on Kyūshū.
