Keiichi's mentality is shaken when his friends tells him that he was at the Watanagashi Festival with them and Satoko bemoans her uncle's abuse. He heads to the village hospital to chat with Doctor Irie but ends up confessing the previous night's murder to him. After Keiichi runs away from the hospital, he tries to dig up the corpse to confirm that he really killed Teppei, but Officer Oishi and policemen accost him. The dig turns up nothing.
