It is revealed that Mion and Shion have regularly switched places before in the past and they're at it again. Shion takes Mion's place in Hinamizawa and is lovestruck by the enigmatic Satoshi Hojo at their first meeting together. Later, Shion starts to learn more about the inner workings of Hinamizawa from her sister and even starts to loath Satoshi's younger sister, Satoko. She comes to hate her so intensely that she brutally assaults her in the classroom amid several witnesses.
