The Great Gurren Brigade fall into an obvious trap set by the third member of the Four Divine Spiral Generals — Guame. The humans are taken captive and stored underground to await excecution; they try to dig out, but find the soil too hard to dig into. Simon however continues to dig and finally understands what Kamina meant about believing in himself. While having a discussion with Guame, Nia finds out the reason why she was thrown away.
